General Profile Description

MEDLAC’s marketing executive needs to develop an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as marketing knowledge, including business knowledge, budgeting, strategic planning.

To succeed in pharmaceutical marketing, MEDLAC’s marketing executive needs strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams. Additional qualifications that typically appear in pharmaceutical marketing executive’s job descriptions include "detail oriented," "excellent planning capabilities" and having an "active listening ability". Solid communication skills including presentation, verbal and written abilities are a must.

MEDLAC’s marketing executive is responsible for the materials needed for the definition of product introduction and the management of the product life cycle, as well as the preparation of the marketing materials, to facilitate the sales promotional and other marketing strategies. She or he analyzes the various marketing strategies and media used to market and promote the new products, may provide advices on marketing/promotional tools or advertisement. MEDLAC’s marketing executive directly reports to the General Director.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from pharmacy or medicinal university education is typically required. Experience in marketing methods and techniques will be necessary in order to effectively meet company and sales objectives. Knowledge or experience in the pharmaceutical industry will be very helpful.

MEDLAC’s Marketing Executive’s Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promoting new products developed by the company to health care service providers;
  • Identifying new market segments;
  • Analyzing the effectiveness of the strategies and rectifying the variances, if any;
  • Developing the overall marketing strategy;
  • Overseeing the implementation of the marketing strategy;
  • Determining and assisting the company’s sales goals;
  • Handling the competitors;
  • Hiring, training, and monitoring the sales support staff (if needed);
  • Participation in trade shows and conferences (when appropriate).
